Since forming in 1947, the major goal of Spokane Valley Rotary has been to serve the citizens of Spokane Valley. We donated $43,000 to support the youth and elderly citizens of the Valley in fiscal year 2013. Our major fundraiser Men of Rotary Fashion Show 2014 focuses on the youth of our community with two programs. AND we are very excited to have Gary Stokes, Executive Director of Friends of Seven, KSPS Public Television as our master of ceremonies this year!

Our first program is “Books for Kids.” In 2014, our Rotary Club gave a free book to every student in six elementary schools in the three districts in the Valley during the celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and the week of “Read Across America.” Almost 2500 books! Our ultimate goal is to give a free book to every student in every elementary school in all three Valley school districts.

Our second program involves giving scholarships to deserving high school graduates. These young men and women will attend a two or four year college or university or a technical/vocational school. This year we have awarded five scholarships to these young achievers. We hope to significantly increase the number and amount of the scholarships over time.

Our fundraiser, Men of Rotary, will be at CenterPlace Regional Event Center on Friday, October 10th from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. The show features 18 Rotarian men from clubs around the area as models. It’s a fun, even zany event. Ticket sales will cover all overhead costs. All net revenue will be designated to our beneficiaries. Last year $12,000. This year $15,000!
